LOMA LINDA>> On Wednesday, March 29, an unidentified victim was walking northbound on Mountain View Avenue pushing a shopping cart with his personal items. The victim, a known transient in the City of Loma Linda, was confronted by the suspect and the two engaged in a physical fight. The suspect used two separate weapons to strike the victim, and one of the weapons caused severe trauma to the victim's chest and abdomen. The injuries required several hours of surgery in order to sustain his life. Deputy B. Ortiz conducted a thorough investigation and worked on several leads regarding the possible identity of the suspect. On March 30, 2017, the suspect was positively identified as George Ramirez. On March 31, 2017, an arrest warrant and search warrant were served at Ramirez’s residence in San Bernardino. Ramirez was subsequently arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for felony charges of attempted murder. Ramirez is being held on a bail of $500,000.
