The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens was recently named the Best Zoo in American by 24/7 Wall Street, as seen in USA Today.

According to their website, to identify the best 20 zoos, “24/7 looked at a total of 272 zoos, all of which were within the zoo category on Yelp or near the top 1,000 U.S. cities by population. Only zoos with at least 50 Yelp reviews were considered. The ranking is based on the average rating and number of reviews.”

According to the USA Today online article, The Living Desert tops the list of 20, which also includes Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Denver Zoo, and Santa Barbara Zoo, among others

“The Living Desert is honored by this recognition,” said Allen Monroe, President/CEO of The Living Desert. “This ranking is not based on the usual reader vote, but on an analysis of Yelp reviews, from actual customer feedback and options. Our guests love The Living Desert and we appreciate them taking the time to share their experiences with others, more so than any other zoo in the country.”

24/7 Wall Street runs a financial news and opinion company with content delivered across the Internet. The company’s articles are republished by many of the largest news sites and portals including USA Today, The Huffington Post, and Time.com.

The Living Desert is open daily from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the last admission at 1 p.m. through September 30. Starting October 1, the Zoo returns to regular hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information visit www.LivingDesert.org or call 760-346-5694.
