The 35th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast will be held this year on Jan. 19 at the National Orange Show Valencia Room, 468 North Arrowhead Ave. at 7:30 a.m.
Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the following sites: Ecclesia Christian Fellowship, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and Temple missionary Baptist Church.
This year’s speaker is Assemblyman Chris Holden, whose message will address the theme of “Remembering the Past to Strengthen the Future."
The Inland Empire Concerned African American Churches (IECAAC)is sponsoring the event, and community award recipients this year are as follows:
Gertrude Whetzel Award: Ratibu Jacocks, Creative Business Services; Public Service Award: Carolyn Tillman, Office of County Schools; Public Service Award: Andre Bossieux, Behavioral Health Services; Community Service Award: Westside Action Group; Patriot Award:
Jack Hill, Jack Hill Catering Services; Trailblazer Award: Beverly Earl, Catholic Charities; and Beyond the Boundaries Award:
Keith Lee, San Bernardino County CAO Office.
