Lifehouse Productions has been presenting plays to the Redlands community since 1993. The team consists of a family of artists who share that their goal is to create an on-stage illustration of Juedo – Christian world views and traditions. These members are constantly working on a new play; when one play is being rehearsed, another group works on a production for the next play. On Nov. 22, Lifehouse Productions held an event to show their audience the steps to bring a theater act “from page to stage” as the owner of Lifehouse Productions, Wayne Scott put it. Before the event began, popular storybook characters like Cinderella, Sherlock, and Calico Kate stood at the entrance, welcoming their guests. At 5:15, the first group of guests was brought on a tour through the production, writing, casting and rehearsing process. Each stop was accompanied by a catchy musical number describing their daily jobs. Afterwards, the guests stepped into a room with lights and aged books hanging from the ceiling. Inside the building, more characters walked around greeting those arriving including Snow White, Dorothy, Rose, Paul the Apostle, and Mrs. Peer the Mirror. Guests could grab a snack of cheese, crackers, and grapes as they waited for others to file in. Guests Madelene and Beverly have been coming to these events and Lifehouse Production plays for over ten years with their families. Beverly first started as an actress in the play "It’s a Wonderful Life" and has been a dedicated member since. Madelene’s grandson was six years old when he first appeared in Aladdin as Abu the monkey. "I can’t choose a favorite play. They’re all great to me,” they said.
