Performance Riverside will conclude its 2017-2018 season with Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Based on the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, and Part of Your World.

Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, wishes to pursue Prince Eric, a human, in the world above. Bargaining with the evil sea witch Ursula, she trades her tail for legs…but the bargain is not what it seems! Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends: Flounder, the fish; Scuttle, the seagull; and Sebastian, the crab, to restore order under the sea.

The production will be directed and choreographed by Roger Castellano who has created original shows and special events for companies like Sesame Street Live and The Walt Disney Company. The production will feature Carlin Castellano as Ariel, Alexander Mendoza as Prince Eric, Debbie Prutsman as Ursula, Madisen Fragosa as Flounder, Bryan Martinez as Scuttle, and Chris Bona as Sebastian.

Performance Riverside, which is housed on the campus of Riverside City College, provides opportunities for students to work alongside local professionals. Now in its 36th season, Performance Riverside has received national recognition for its outstanding professional theatre productions.
