Riverside/San Bernardino Counties Orchid Society will be holding its annual Orchid Auction on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Lawrence Hutton Community Center, 660 Colton Ave., Colton, CA. Admission is FREE. The public is invited and the viewing of the orchids for the auction will open at 11:00 A.M. and the auction will start at 11:30 A.M. This auction is a great opportunity to view and purchase some very fine orchids. Many of these orchids are not available in the local stores. The orchids come from growers in Southern California, Santa Barbara, and as far away as Hawaii. Peter Lin, an award-winning orchid grower, is the auctioneer and will explain the cultural requirements of each orchid before it is sold. Even if you don’t purchase an orchid for a friend, yourself or your mother, it is worthwhile to see, learn and become acquainted with these fascinating plants. You may not have an orchid at this time, but what a great opportunity to get started cultivating these versatile plants. If you need more information go to RSBCOS.org or call Ron Lang, 951-663 -5237.
