SBVC Men’s Track & Field: Jones Signs Letter of Intent

SBVC Men’s Track and Field long jumper, sophomore Ryan Jones (San Bernardino Cajon), has signed a letter of intent with Dickinson State University. Jones placed seventh in the Long Jump at the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Finals with a distance of 6.58 meters to earn SBVC two points. At the SoCal Finals he also produced a seventh place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.81 meters. Earlier in the season, at the San Diego State Aztec Invitational, Jones competed in three individual events as well as the 4x400 relay. He took 6th in the open long jump at 21-5 1/4, 7th in the javelin at 150-4 and 2nd in section 3 of the 400 hurdles at 58.13. Jones also ran the third leg on the 4x400 relay that ran to a seasonal best of 3:22.71 in taking 5th. Dickinson State University is located in Dickinson, North Dakota, which is about 100 miles west of the state capitol, Bismarck, North Dakota. The DSU Blue Hawks run at the Henry Biesiot Activity Center, and the team is coached by Jace Schillinger. DSU competes in the North Star Athletic Association and participates in NAIA.
