During the Month of April, we will be focusing on disaster preparation, and informing our residents about the many resources that the City has available to help us all stay healthy and safe.

Staying safe and prepared is more important than ever. Fortunately, the City of Moreno Valley offers free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training this month, which takes place June 28-30.

This hands-on training mimics real-world scenarios and equips you with the knowledge and skills to be an invaluable asset to your community when an emergency occurs.

Training includes basic personal and family preparedness, search and rescue techniques, disaster medical operations, proper fire extinguisher operations, and more! The 20-hour course culminates with an earthquake simulation response drill that will put your newfound skills to the test.

CERT is open to anyone in the Moreno Valley community and is designed to empower you to respond effectively during a crisis. Once you finish the class, you’ll leave with a free CERT backpack and the know-how to be a part of the solution when disaster strikes.

Classes will occur Friday, June 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, June 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 22870 Calle San Juan de Los Lagos.

To register, visit moval.org/oem or call 951.413.3800.

Classes are limited to 30 people per training session, so make sure to sign up today!
