Among them is Tabatha Barefield, a committed code enforcement officer whose journey reflects a deep-seated dedication to public work and community engagement. Born and raised in California and a resident of Grand Terrace; Barefield's story is one of perseverance, purpose, and the power of perspective.

Joining the public works department in 2022, Tabatha recently made a significant transition into the role of a code enforcement officer. This move was not just a career shift but a step closer to fulfilling her vision of serving and contributing to the city she loves. Grand Terrace, known for its scenic beauty and close-knit community, has found in Tabatha a protector and promoter of its values and regulations.

Tabatha's approach to her work goes beyond the call of duty. For her, serving the City of Grand Terrace is a privilege and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Her dedication is evident in her work ethic, communication skills, and unwavering commitment to ensuring the city remains a beautiful, compliant, and safe place to live.

Despite encountering challenges along her path, Tabatha's resilience has been remarkable. Notably, a fellow code officer saw her potential and recommended her for training, setting her on the path to her current role. This support system has been instrumental in her journey, helping her navigate tough times and emerge stronger.

Over the past 18 months, Tabatha has felt blessed to contribute to the city's well-being and development. Her gratitude is reflected in her diligent efforts to enhance the quality of life in Grand Terrace. She believes in the importance of perspective, viewing challenges as stepping stones to growth and success. Tabatha's own life story, marked by overcoming difficult circumstances, inspires her daily work and vision for the future.
