Sports for All Ages in Colton

The spring sports season for the Community Services Department in the City of Colton is on the eve of its exciting start. With the upcoming spring, there will be a variety of sports options for all ages. Tot Sports is offered towards children 3 to 5 years old. Tot Sports is a six week introductory program, teaching kids about having fun while learning about the fundamentals. Tot Basketball is scheduled to begin April 5 and registration for both Basketball and Soccer is now open. Youth Flag Football League is offered to the 8 to 14 age range. This league is a non-competitive, where teams practice once a week and have games versus other teams on Saturdays. The league begins in March and registration is now open. For the thirteen to seventeen year old teenagers, Colton Community Services offers Teen basketball league. This recreational competitive league is exciting for participants and spectators, to cheer and root for their teams, as they go through a regular season and playoffs. The league is scheduled to begin in June, with registration beginning on March 17. Finally adults 18 years or older, can participate in both an adult basketball league and an adult co-ed & men’s softball league. Both leagues accept team registrations, and give teams the opportunity to compete and have bragging rights in a recreational setting. Registration for both leagues open in February, and the adult basketball season begins in April, while the adult softball leagues begin in May. All programs offered by Colton Community Services Department take registration at the Gonzales Community Center, located at 670 Colton Ave. in Colton. Additional information can be given by calling 909-370-6153. Colton is the one stop shop for sports for a family of all ages.
