GRAND TERRACE>> With a long tradition of little league sports, the Grand Terrace Little League Opening Ceremonies are set for Saturday, March 25 at Veterans Freedom Park and the league is looking for vendors to help celebrate the ceremony. During the opening ceremony, Robert Bond, president of the Grand Terrace Little League, will be the emcee and will announce the teams and managers. Mike O’Neil is a volunteer with the team and has previously served as the field and maintenance worker for the last 5 years to help prepare the field for games. He said he encourages the community to attend to watch the kids play baseball, softball and T-ball. “It’s very entertaining watching the kids play and the kids love it,” O’Neil said. “It’s something that helps bring the communities together.” For those interested in being a vendor at the ceremony, booth spaces are available for $50 and are free for informational booths. Those interested in selling items, showcasing or would like to have a booth to provide information are encouraged to contact April Bond for an application at (909)645-4016 or email at april007angel@gmail.com O’Neil said he has been with the league since 1999 but the tradition of the little league events have taken places for decades.
