The Colton Mayor's Prayer Breakfast was held Thursday, October 12th at the Women’s Club, 495 North 7th Street at 8 a.m.

Following a complimentary breakfast, served by the Women's Club, Pastor Tom Dicus from Inland Empire Faith Collective introduced Mayor Richard DeLaRosa as he addressed the group with some future goals for our city; some of the blessings and some of the challenges we face in the future. Colton is a 'full service' city with our own Fire and Police Department. He also noted the Riverside Press Enterprise named COLTON the #1 City Most Want To Live In. One of his main projects he is facing are the homeless in our city. Mayor stated, "I can not do this without the cooperation of the residents and the Pastors". Mayor DeLaRosa then led in prayer for wisdom and guidance for himself and our leadership team. A time of prayer by all the Pastors was held for the Mayor, the city, and all employees.

Dr. G. Louis Gonzales played the piano and led the group singing with the help of Colton High School student, Madeline Nelson.

Jerry Almendarez, School Superintendent, spoke on reviving the Chaplains on campus. Dan Florz, President of School Board, stated "We want to supply the needs of each student. Mind, body and soul. They need to have hope; they can't have hope without faith." A group prayer was held for our schools.

There was also prayer given by the Pastors of the Inland Empire Faith Collective for the Police and Fire Departments led by Pastor Eric Strutz and Pastor Paul Stump.

Several other councilmen, representatives and dignitaries were in attendance.

After the singing of Amazing Grace, Pastor Danny Fuentes closed the meeting with prayer.
