MORENO VALLEY>> Joey's Rose by Patty Del Mar is a kiosk in the Moreno Valley Mall that is helping make a difference with their natural and organic products. A customer that has been helped directly from the business is Ivan Baron. Baron received news from doctors that he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The cancer led to an unbalance of his hormones as he faced a chemical imbalance in his body. Soon after he learned about the diagnosis, Baron said he went into a coma for two weeks because of the lack of sodium in his body. As he woke up from the coma, he was connected to hospital equipment and his mother sitting in a chair with a blanket around her. After long periods of bed rest in the hospital, Baron said a large and aggressive form of acne formed all over his body, especially his back, arms and chest. Although medication was prescribed to him, he said it was not as effective as the products from Joey’s Rose. "The face wash and organic custom mixtures helped my acne to clear up faster and more gently than any medication that was prescribed to me," Baron said. "I highly recommend it to anyone with some type of discomfort with their skin. If it worked for me it can work wonders for you." Because Baron and his family still face major medical bills, some of the proceeds that Joey's Rose makes will go toward Baron and his medical bills. "I was once a healthy and active person and am now limited to this condition left by the cancer, constant pills and testosterone shots are one of them," Baron said. "The other is the burden that my family now has." Gisselle Munoz, team member of Patty Del Mar, said the ingredients in the products are organic and include family recipes that have been passed on since the 1800s. “We don’t have any chemicals in our products, which makes our products very safe,” Munoz said. “Either way, you shower with soap. With our products, your skin is eating (nutrients). Every time your pores open, it is eating off of something that is healthy like antioxidants and vitamin C.” Although the family began making the products for friends and family, Munoz said her family felt like the health and beauty market was lacking products for men and would often find that men would have to use women’s products for the healthy, organic and clean feel. The family began making their products for men that were simple to use and clean. Munoz said women wanted to use it too, so the family decided to make the products that could be used for both men and women. The family of five, including Munoz’ mother, Patty Munoz, and three brothers, Joey, Noe, and Giovanny Munoz, started their business in Corona Del Mar in 2013. Joey’s Rose by Patty Del Mar is located in the Moreno Valley Mall at 22500 Town Circle, Moreno Valley, CA 92553 and is open every day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
