REDLANDS>> Prominent anti-racism activist Tim Wise will present a talk based on his book, "Culture of Cruelty: How America's Elite Demonize the Poor, Valorize the Rich and Jeopardize the Future" at the University of Redlands on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel. After the presentation, Wise will be available for a book signing. Wise is the author of several books including his latest work, “Under the Affluence: Shaming the Poor, Praising the Rich and Sacrificing the Future of America.” Named one of the “25 Visionaries Who Are Changing the World” by Utne Reader, Wise's work has appeared online on Salon.com, in the Huffington Post and on other internet sites. He also offers commentary for radio and television news shows. Wise has lectured at more than 1,000 colleges and high schools, and has trained on methods to dismantle racism in institutions. The Historic Memorial Chapel at the University of Redlands is located at 1200 E. Colton Ave. Parking is free in areas adjacent to the chapel and the cost is $10 for general admission.
