Grand Terrace High School Football Titans have officially started their season of games and it was such an amazing turn out with the support of students, school staff, cheerleaders, friends, and families that attended the first Freshman/Sophomore game on August 18th and Varsity on August 19th. The games were intense, and the crowd cheered with excitement! It was amazing to see the support from everyone that came out to support our Titans.

Coach Appleton's Freshman/Sophomore team had the opportunity to play at their home football field against Elsinore High School on Thursday, August 18th and they were victorious as the Titans got their first WIN. The first touchdown was scored by Freshman player Andres Melo #22 and second touchdown by Jeremiah Barrios #14.

This year Grand Terrace High School made history with their first Lady Titan Aundrea Molina #81 to join the team as their Kicker. Aundrea proved to have what it takes as she successfully kicked her first field goal helping the Titans close the deal to beat Elsinore High School 13 – 0. She was hyped at the end of the game and shared a few words, “let’s make a change, let’s make an impact.”

As for the first game for Varsity GTHS Football Titans with Coach Mai'lo as Head Coach, went down on Friday, August 19th was played away at Elsinore High School Tigers. Titans started out strong stopping the ball fighting till they end and never giving up making it difficult for Elsinore Tigers to score.

First touchdown of season was scored by Alijah Appleton #4 and later in the game he scored again. Other Titans that also put points on the scoreboard were, Exzavior Oliver #3, and Gilbert Villareal #21 but in the end, Titans fell short by 2 points and the Tigers take the win 34 – 32.

It was a tough loss, but Titans will bounce back and will be ready for their next game against Colton High School Yellowjackets (0-1). It is a blackout game so make sure to gear up with your Titan black attire and come out to support our Grand Terrace Football Titans and be a part of this year’s first Friday Night Lights!
