Reading Takes You Everywhere

The San Bernardino Public Library will hold their annual summer reading program from June 2 through July 28, 2018.  This year’s summer reading theme is “Reading Takes You Everywhere”.  Children, teens, and adults are all able to participate to win prizes.  

Children and Teens will earn prizes by keeping track of minutes read, activities completed, and library events that they attended. Adults will be entered into drawings each time they visit the library and check out books and will also receive extra entries for attending library programs. The grand prize drawings will take place at each library branch after July 28.

Each of the city libraries will host performances to celebrate the beginning of the reading programs:

•        Noteworthy Puppets presenting S.T.E.A.M.works: The Puppet Musical will perform on Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 PM at the Inghram Branch Library at 1505 West Highland Ave. Whiz kids Max & Julie embark on a Hip-Hop musical S.T.E.A.M. adventure as they strive to take the top prize at he Science Fair. This show features the world’s first 3-D printed puppet character!

•        Wild Wonders, Walk on the Wildside Around the World will perform on Monday, June 4 at  6:00 PM at the Villasenor Branch Library, 525 N. Mt. Vernon.  Wild Wonders has your passport to adventure with animals from all over the world. Explore the world’s ecosystems and biomes while meeting some fascinating creatures face-to-face and learning about what they do where they live.

•        Wonders of Wildlife, Destination Animals will perform on Tuesday, June 5 at 6:00 PM at the Rowe Branch Library, 108 E. Marshall Blvd. Our animal programs inspire the need for discovery that leads to caring about conservation and the environment. Live animals, magic, surprises, and more.

•        Pacific Animal Productions: Passport to Animal Adventures will perform on Saturday, June 9th at 2:00 PM in the Bing Wong Auditorium at the Feldheym Central Library at 555 W. 6th St. Meet animals from around the world and learn how they survive. From deserts to swamps, from hunting to hiding, animals are perfectly suited for the adventures they face wherever they live in the world!
