Moreno Valley High School Library Wins Big Grant

It’s always a big deal when your member of the state Assembly comes to visit your school – and an even bigger deal when he comes with a check for $5,000. Assembly member Jose Medina dropped by Moreno Valley High School recently to present a check from the Barona Band of Mission Indians, in response to a grant request made by Moreno Valley librarian Teresa Mares. She estimates the check will buy more than 200 new books for the library. The tribe awards a $5,000 grant to just one school per Assembly district. Many thanks to the Barona Band of Mission Indians and to Assembly member Medina and his outstanding staff for their continuing support for public education and for Moreno Valley schools and students.
