March Field Air Museum is hosting for the second year a “Fright Nite” sleepover on Oct. 25. The all-night event begins at 6 p.m. and will run until 7 a.m. the next day, Saturday, Oct. 26. Guests must bring their own sleeping bags, toiletries and snacks. The event is free and open only to museum members. Parents must chaperone their own children. (One adult is required for every two children). Museum members will camp out overnight under the wings of indoor aircraft and be treated to spooky stories about the museum’s B-29 and B-17, experience a flashlight tour of the flight line, and a go on a paranormal tour with the museum’s curator, Jeff Houlihan. He will be visiting sites where a team of professional paranormals have conducted research. Part of his tour includes reviewing their evidence. According to museum director Patricia Korzec, the team of paranormals “has been collecting evidence similar to that found in other aviation museums in the country. Their approach is very scientific and they are using state-of-the-art equipment to discern any paranormal activities at our site.” A special children’s area, “Casper’s Corner,” will be available for the younger guests who wish to experience more friendly ghosts. Advance reservations are required and annual memberships are available for purchase: $35 Individual, $65 Family (two adults and three children).
