RIVERSIDE >> Riverside University Health System (RUHS) will welcome approximately 90 local area health academy high school students on to its campus Thursday, April 27 for participation in Health Care Job Participation Day. Students will get a real-life view of health care careers, various clinical specialties, and the health care industry from members of the RUHS Medical Center, Behavioral Health, and Public Health. The one-day program is designed to educate students about career options in health care, inform them about the challenges in the health care industry, and allow them to tour the facilities and visit the simulation lab. This program will give students an experience to see and visit a variety of health related workplaces and gather information on careers and fields of study they are interested in. At the end of the day, students will gain a better understanding of a variety of health professions as well as the Riverside University Health System as a whole. RUHS is committed to providing programs that educate and train the health care workforce of the future and serving the local community. The program will take place in the new RUHS Education Building. The three-story building houses a state-of-the-art conference center, several classrooms, simulation labs, and work spaces that allow RUHS to accommodate partnerships with the UC Riverside School of Medicine and expand the health professions education program. The Health Care Job Participation Day is being coordinated by RUHS in conjunction with the Inland Coalition/Reach Out. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the Education Building on the RUHS Medical Center campus. For additional information about RUHS Health Care Job Participation Day please contact Carol at (909) 982-8641.
