This past Saturday April 19, 2014 the Grand Terrace High School Football Team concluded their “Fundraising with a Purpose” campaign by gathering in the high school’s cafeteria to put together 25,000 meals intended to feed starving children throughout the world. This was one of the first fundraisers for the team, with the dual purpose of fundraising for the team and feeding needy children in other countries stricken by poverty and starvation. The nutritious meals are made with soy, rice, dehydrated vegetables, minerals and vitamins. These meals are transported around the world by our military and other humanitarian groups. BJ the representative from the organization mentioned “Grand Terrace Football did very well for their first time doing this kind of fundraiser” GT is 1 of 5 schools in the Southern California area doing this fundraiser. The process started by the players unloading the supplies from the truck and setting up the assembly line. Before they started the process, County Supervisor James Ramos let them in prayer and blessed the food being prepared. Supervisor Ramos along with Reggie King and Yoon Kim gave very generous donations toward this fundraiser. The boys were given the instructions of how to pack these meals and then 2 plus hours later the 25,000 meals were processed and placed in the truck for delivery. The King & Kim families, Jim McNaboe from the Grand Terrace Lions Club, Councilmember Darcy McNaboe and Grand Terrace Mayor Walt Stanckiewitz were on-hand to help with the fundraiser by packaging some of the 25,000 meals, along with a handful of parents, Boosters and coaches. The Grand Terrace High School Football team would like to thank everyone who made donations and helped out with this great cause. Let’s keep making “Titan Pride, City Wide”.
