Councilmember Isaac Suchil Announces Campaign for Re-election

Councilmember Isaac Suchil has announced his run for re-election this November. Suchil has lived in Colton for more than five decades along with his wife Regina, two sons and two grandsons. First and foremost, he said he wants to thank his supporters for their continued support, and said for those who have not supported him in the past, he would be honored to earn their support for the 2016 election. Throughout the past few years, he has had the opportunity to experience working as Colton's Council Member for District 6, in which he said he has enjoyed working on behalf of our residents. Suchil said he feels the city needs to protect taxpayers and businesses through sound fiscal management, instead of raising taxes and utility rates which takes money from hard working residents and struggling businesses. “Our city needs to provide important government services to our residents and businesses in a more cost effective manner by bringing government, businesses and labor together to make Colton the most job friendly city in San Bernardino County,” Suchil said in a press release. Suchil said he is a proven experienced fiscal-minded councilmember who works for the people he represents. Some of the things he said he has accomplished during his time as councilmember includes bringing better lighting to South La Cadena Avenue, Mt. Vernon Avenue and Washington Avenue; bringing signalization to South La Cadena Avenue with La Loma Avenue which is expected to be done early next year and he said he started to beautify the medians with drought tolerant vegetation on Mt. Vernon Avenue, with Washington and South La Cadena Avenue to come. With the assistance of UP Railroad, he said he has also started the process on removing an old outdated and unsafe bridge on Barton Road which will start next year, and he is working to bring a District 6 park and dog park to the south side of District 6. "All candidates should be judged on what they have done and not on what they say they will do or have done," he said in a press release. Suchil said he hopes to see you as he makes his rounds in your neighborhood.
