San Bernardino County Sheriffs have arrested an 18 year old male from San Bernardino in connection to a September robbery at Stater Bros. in Grand Terrace. Sheriff's officials have taken Steven Urias, 18, into custody on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and mayhem after an investigation of the September crime that left one Stater Bros. employee with injuries to his face. Clothing Urias was wearing during the robbery was found at his residence in San Bernardino, according to a written statement issued by the Sheriff's Department. On Monday morning, Sept. 2, Urias and two other male suspects entered the Stater Bros. on Barton Road in Grand Terrace. They each grabbed two bottles of alcohol from the supermarket's liquor area and ran out the door with the items. When the suspects were confronted by an employee outside the store, one of the suspects hit the employee on the head with an alcohol bottle and the employee was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, sustaining injuries to his head. The employee was treated and later released from the hospital, the release states. The suspects are all Hispanic males, approximately 17 to 20 years old. Urias was booked Dec. 4 at the Central Detention Center on a $500,000 bail. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Det. G. Leninger at 909-387-3545. Those who wish to remain anonymous are urged to call the Sheriff's Central Station or the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463), or leave information on the We-Tip Hotline at www.wetip.com.
