Largest Easter Egg Hunt in "Ears"

What seemed like thousands of colored eggs were scattered throughout Sunnymead Park last weekend in preparation for the annual City-hosted Easter Egg Hunt. With approximately 1,500 eggs scattered through 5 different fields, the city hosted "one of the largest crowds within the last 13 years," according to Moreno Valley Recreation Program Coordinator, Rudy Rodriguez, who shared that over 1,000 young locals were in attendance. Such attendance did quite a number on the event, for within mere minutes, the children filed out of the fields, clutching baskets blooming with color, leaving the fields bare of the plastic eggs. One of Rodriguez's staff members, Miriam Barragan, claims a 2-hour preparation period before the event, and and shares that she is motivated by her enjoyment in getting "involved in opportunities for the kids." With 5 golden eggs hidden amongst the regular colored eggs, kids had the opportunity to win large Easter baskets filled with goodies. Parents also benefited from the event, by having the option to participate in a free raffle for prizes provided by the sponsors. Representatives from the Moreno Valley Public Library set up a table full of pamphlets, flyers, and information regarding upcoming events and programs available for the children. Ivorie Franks, the library director, expressed her support for the "cultural significance as far as tradition" in the Easter Egg Hunt, all the while encouraging people to learn extra literary skills. After the hunt, participants strolled around the park stopping at various tables, waiting for raffle results, taking photos with the Easter Bunny, or heading out to the Bunny Brunch also hosted by the City for "a morning of games, crafts, a brunch, and fun-filled surprises."
