Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center (LLUBMC) has been awarded the Platinum status by Optum, formerly known as United Behavioral Health, for the care it continues to provide in the Inland Empire working with the behavioral health population. “We continue to strive to deliver the highest quality and cost-efficient health care to our patients,” said Edward Field, executive director, LLUBMC. “This honor reinforces our efforts and we look forward to continue to perform at this high level.” Dr. Rick Jemanez, national medical director, External Health Plans, shared, “I believe Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center truly represents the epitome of what outstanding mental health care services can and should be. They are a credit to their community and to the mental health profession at large.” LLUBMC was honored with the Platinum distinction based on clinical data collected by Optum over the course of an entire year. Optum looked at specific criteria and determined that LLUBMC has fewer readmission rates, has better follow up rates than other regional facilities measured, has shown a reduction in duration of stay without compromising on treatment outcomes and, on average, it costs patients less to receive successful treatment at the hospital. Field continued, “We are extremely proud and honored to have received this Platinum distinction. It’s truly a well-deserved acknowledgement of the great work being performed by our team. When one of our providers refers a patient to our facility, they know their patient is going to receive excellent care. That is the kind of trust we’ve built over the years. Receiving Optum’s Platinum status serves to affirm that our providers’ trust is well placed with Loma Linda.”
