SAN BERNARDINO >> On Saturday, May 21, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., The San Bernardino Masonic Lodge will hold its second annual May Fest from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Wilson Elementary School. The event is free and open to the general public.
The event will include free games, free popcorn, and face painting. Visitors can also pan for gold. Nachos, hot dogs, and corn on the cobb will also be sold for one dollar.
Masonry is the world's oldest fraternal organization tracing its roots from the early 1700's in England. It was well established in America by the time of the Revolutionary War.
In fact, George Washington was a Mason even before the war. Masonry came to California at the time of the Gold Rush and became formally established in 1850. Only 15 years later, San Bernardino established its lodge which has now been in existence for over 150 years, having celebrated that special anniversary in June of last year.
