Interim City Manager to Speak at Colton Museum

Stephen P. Compton will be the guest speaker at the Colton Area Museum Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. Mr. Compton began his service with the City of Colton as Interim City Manager in April 2013. He served in various positions in six communities and transportation agencies. He has 30 years of executive managerial experience working with various California, Wisconsin and Texas municipal governments. Mr. Compton arrived at the time when the new FY 2013–14 budget was in development and manages the day-to-day operations of the city. Additionally, Compton has said that he has made it his goal to enhance community development and economic development efforts, focusing particularly on attracting new residential, commercial and industrial growth to the city to help Colton move closer to the goal of participation at the forefront of San Bernardo County’s Inland Empire cities. The Colton Area Museum is located at 380 N. La Cadena Dr. All programs at the Museum are free of charge and open to the public.
