On Thursday Aug. 20, 2015 at 1:59 a.m. Deputy Tabor from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Central Station conducted a traffic stop of a Chevy Tahoe for a lighting equipment violation and expired registration. Sheriff's deputies indicated the vehicle pulled into the driveway leading into the Holiday Inn Express. The license plate attached to the vehicle belonged to a Toyota registered out of Loma Linda. Deputies identified the driver as Anthony Soto, a 34-year-old Loma Linda resident. Deputy Rusk was able to contact the victim of the stolen license plate. The victim did not know Soto and had not given him permission to be in possession of the license plate, deputies said. Deputy Tabor conducted a parole search of the room Soto rented where he located items that were consistent with possession of methamphetamine for sales. Soto was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center. Soto is on active parole for weapons violations and remains in custody on $180,000 bail.
