Saturday May 27, marked a special occasion for Cal Skate of Grand Terrace and a grand celebration was held at the skating rink to commemorate 35 years of business. Cal Skate had spent the whole month of “May Madness” leading up to the birthday bash with surprise give-a-ways and a prize spinning wheel for its customers. On May 27th, the skating rink offered free skating and shared two birthday cakes with everyone. On top of that the VIP area was full of delicious food donated by local eateries. Grand Terrace Subs, Thai Kitchen, La Pasta Italia and Taco Village all provided a helping of their best offerings to help congratulate Cal Skate on their 35th anniversary. "We are super excited to be celebrating 35 years of providing entertainment to the youth and families here in Grand Terrace and the Inland Empire. It is our mission to keeping roller skating and the nostalgia of Cal Skate GT for many more years to come,” said owner Kacy Carlsen. Carlsen was presented certificates of recognition from both Grand Terrace Mayor Darcy McNaboe and the office of San Bernardino County Supervisor James Ramos. Mayor McNaboe, along with Mayor Richard De La Rosa of Colton, came and joined the festivities in honor of this trusted mainstay business in the city of Grand Terrace. Cal Skate is located at 22080 Michigan in Grand Terrace.
