Angel's Closet Charities Tea

Angels’ Closet Charities has scheduled their annual fund raising tea at Martha Green’s “The Eating Room” in Redlands for Oct. 28, 29, and 30 from 4-6 p.m. This year local harpist Susan Irving will be performing at the event. There will be opportunity drawings on each date. Raffle items range from spa days, to TVs. Items have been donated by local businesses. Angels’ Closet Charities was founded in 2008 by Pat Williams out of a passion she had for high-school and middle-school age kids whose families experience financially difficulties. Angels’ Closet Charities is 100% community funded and provides school clothes, interview attire, formal-wear, cap and gowns and basic necessities like underwear, socks, and shoes to these children in line with their current needs. Angels' Closet provides its services to middle schools and high schools from the Redlands East Valley (REV) campus. School counselors and teachers generally recommend a student to the organization. The communities’ generosity enables Angels' Closet to stock gently used and new items for these kids in their time of need. "If you could see the face of a child after they leave with five outfits, and new self confidence, it truly brings you to tears," said founder Pat Williams. “The Tea is the most important and successful fund raiser of the year for The Closet,” says Williams. “People come out to the tea with their company, family members, or friends from the office, and they all have such a great time listening to the entertainment, drinking tea, and eating all the bite-sized goodies and small sandwiches Martha Green makes for this classic English Tea Time. It’s so fun.” The ticket price is $45 per person. People can purchase tickets conveniently this year from Nectar at 12 E State Street in Redlands.
