Officer Killed by Vehicle Collision

On Thursday, Nov. 5 at about 2:14 a.m., Officer Bryce Hanes was involved in an on-duty traffic collision at 4th Street and Etiwanda in the city of Ontario. The officer had just left the San Bernardino County West Valley Detention Center and was returning to the City of San Bernardino. Officer Hanes was southbound on Etiwanda and at the intersection of 4th Street and was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Ontario Police Department is handling the criminal investigation. Officer Hanes is a 12-year veteran and leaves behind a wife and three small children. However, the family is supported by a very strong religious network, as well as the San Bernardino Police Department family network.
