Fireworks are Illegal in Moreno Valley

In just two days, we will celebrate Independence Day with our families, friends, pets, and the rest of our nation.

Like all of you, I look forward to spending this time with my family and the rest of the MoVal community!

Whether you are at home or ‘out and about’ celebrating, I encourage everyone to enjoy this holiday safely and responsibly.

We all know the dangers of drinking and driving, but I also wanted to remind our residents about the risks and legal consequences of using fireworks in Moreno Valley. We’ve seen too many people and pets seriously injured, as well as significant property damage from the non-professional use of fireworks.

To put it in simple terms, fireworks are illegal in Moreno Valley.

Individuals in possession of illegal fireworks can face fines of up to $3,500, jail time, and can be held liable for incurred property damage.

Fireworks are simply not worth the risk.

So, on behalf of Moreno Valley’s first responders, I’m asking everyone to leave the fireworks to the professionals this year – and every year, for that matter.

Here in the City, we can all see an amazing fireworks display, presented by trained professionals and performed under the safe and secure watch of our first responders at the City’s Fourth of July FunFest, held right here at the Civic Center Amphitheater.

Our FunFest will feature great food, live bands, a beer garden, and the best fireworks show in the Inland Empire.

Learn more at moval.org/fourth or report illegal fireworks at moval.org/fireworks.
