Dr.G is Granted Credential of Ministry to Become Officially Ordained

Three years ago, as a member of Faithway Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, DrG was presented with a local license to preach and teach authorizing him to participate in services throughout the community. Since that time, DrG has developed a nice relationship with forty-five local churches in the City of Colton and has spearheaded the creation of the Colton Council of Churches in February 2024, which brings together church leaders once-a-month for prayer, networking, bible-based presentations, traditional hymn-study, and thoughtful discussion of contemporary Christian issues.

In accordance with the efforts put forth in the development of this organization, now with full non-profit 501(3)(c) status, DrG has had many opportunities to participate in local churches offering sermons and/or various types of teaching situations which may include bible study, traditional hymn-story presentations, or musical performances. DrG plays the trumpet and piano, and has given presentations at three Spanish-Speaking churches.

For several weeks, Dr.G has been in communication with the Universal Life Church, who after verifying his education, preaching experience, teaching experience and tenants of faith, granted him a “Credential of Ministry” to officially being Ordained as of August 19, 2025. Now, in addition to his preaching and teaching, he is authorized to perform weddings, funerals, and baptisms not only locally but throughout California, and in any state recognizing his authorization.

“This is a long-time dream come true,” says DrG, who being a life-time Christian has come full-circle from being “ordained” into the Christian faith, to at the age of 69, officially being Ordained to ‘legally” lead others in the performance of these additional activities that assuredly need spiritual guidance.

“The real church,” emphatically stated by Dr.G, “Is in the heart of the people who believe in Jesus Christ,” and continued, “That they have admitted their sin, asked for redemption, and have received salvation by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.” For those who know Dr.G, this strong statement of Christian doctrine is based on the fact that the Bible clearly explains this path to salvation, and which according to Dr.G, is now more important than ever, given the condition of our society.

On a personal note, Dr.G says, “The credential is truly meaningful because it allows me to expand my ministry.” When asked in what way, Dr.G joyfully added, “This provides me with the legal authority to fully perform all of the accepted ministerial-type duties,” and besides, “My daughter Neiba is getting married November 8, and I have been asked to officiate her wedding.” This last comment, provided the spark DrG needed to get his ordination documents completed and authorized. Now that the credential is in-hand, DrG will continue to proclaim his role as a “Servant of Jesus Christ,” but now with renewed energy (Holy Spirit) and the knowledge that Jesus Christ now has another tool to use in terms of spreading the gospel.

For those who know Dr.G, which are many in the community, knows that he also leads an “online church” on his CITYTALK Facebook (DrG-) page.  On Sunday mornings at 9:00am, Dr.G presents his “Walk Through the Bible” series covering each of the bible’s 66 books, one each week. During the week Dr.G presents his “Straight Talk about Jesus” series which focuses on topics associated with the life of Jesus Christ. Any and all topics about Jesus are presented on his Wednesday night program at 8:00pm.

Congratulations to Dr.G for his Ordination and new “Certificate of Ministry” which he was granted on August 19, 2025 authorizing him to legally perform all ministerial duties as lead by the Spirit and blessed by the grace of Jesus. May his service to the church and to the entire community continue to be a blessing to all those with whom he comes into contact.
