Commemorate Patriot Day by Giving Blood with LifeStream

LifeStream, 96.7 KCAL-FM and Toyota of San Bernardino invite community members to mark Patriot Day, Thursday, Sept. 11 in a most significant way – by becoming a new blood donor or renewing their commitment to voluntary donation. “Toyota of San Bernardino is proud to partner with LifeStream and KCAL for the Patriot Day blood drive,” said Jim Stark, marketing manager. “We are honored to remember and pay tribute to the victims of the 9-11 attacks while raising awareness on the importance of blood donation and saving lives in our community.” Donors at LifeStream donor centers and community drives September 11 receive (while supplies last) a special edition 9-11 Remembrance T-shirt commemorating the 13th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. The popular KCAL-FM morning team of Stu, Tiffany and Jimbo will greet and thank blood donors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the San Bernardino Donor Center, 384. W. Orange Show Road. Donors should maintain their regular eating schedules and increase their fluid intake(water is best) in the 24 hours prior to donating. Photo ID is required. Fifteen is the minimum age to donate. Fifteen- and 16-year-olds require a signed parental consent form, available at all drive locations and at www.LStream.org. Donors should be in general good health, and must weigh at least 110 pounds. LifeStream is an independent, local blood bank that supplies blood products and services to more than 80 Southern California hospitals.
