Alberta Schaap was a mother, grandmother, and a loving wife. Alberta was a homemaker and she loved to cook. She loved her home and enjoyed her knickknacks. She spent many hours decorating and cleaning and making a comfortable place for the love of her life, Jim Schaap. According to her husband Jim, she was a very, very, very good housewife. Alberta was born in West Virginia and was married at a young age and subsequently divorced. She met Jim Schaap in 1971 and they got married on June 9, 1973. They purchased a home in San Bernardino on South Mountain View, where they had many good times and lots of friends and family over for barbecues, horseshoes and watching NASCAR. They lived there together for over 40 years. She loved her pets, both dogs and cats, and would often take in strays. She always looked nice and loved to tinker with her jewelry; she dressed immaculately. She enjoyed jewelry and clothes and dressing up—she was very presentable. Alberta loved to play the keyboard and sing country songs. Her favorite singer was George Jones. She met him in person and he gave her an autographed picture that read, “To Alberta. Love ya, George Jones.” Most of all, she loved her husband Jim, and he loved her very, very much! She is survived by her son, Bruce Howell, and his wife Ann and their son Christopher. Christopher was the apple of Alberta’s eye. She also is survived by her niece Margie Miller and her husband Jim Miller.
