The City of Moreno Valley proudly announces the start of operations for Deckers Outdoor Corporation's primary North American e-commerce distribution center. Currently based in Goleta, Deckers Outdoor Corporation (Deckers) is a leading designer, producer, marketer, and brand manager of innovative, high-quality footwear, apparel, and accessories. Known for providing cutting edge quality products, Deckers offers a variety of brands, most notably UGG Australia, and reports international sales in excess of $1.4 billion. "We welcome Deckers and celebrate their start of operations; which expands our employment base and moves us forward on our economic development objectives," said Mayor Jesse Molina. "This is a great employer with an international customer following. Their decision to locate in Moreno Valley will benefit our community for decades." Constructed by developer Sares Regis, Deckers' new 800,000 sq. ft. distribution center at the southwest corner of Perris Boulevard and Grove View Road in the Moreno Valley Industrial Area has ample room to expand to a total facility size of 1,200,000 sq. ft. Phase I employment is estimated at 80 full-time employees; an additional 70 full-time employees are anticipated with Phase II. The company provides employees with highly competitive pay and benefits, enjoying a high level of employee retention and loyalty. Through the Hire MoVal Program, Deckers has agreed to hire at least 30% of its workforce from Moreno Valley. Deckers' North American e-commerce order desk is also coming to Moreno Valley. Considering sales tax revenues alone, it is estimated that Deckers will generate over $3.4 million in City General Fund revenues for Moreno Valley over the next 20 years.
