Mafile’o “Leo” Tupou is an impressive individual with a strong academic and athletic background. His commitment to both his studies and football demonstrates his dedication and hard work. Going from special teams to becoming the starting Linebacker at Riverside Community College (RCC) is a testament to his perseverance and skill on the football field.

His achievements in high school, going 12-1 in his Junior and Senior years, and now winning State Championship at RCC, highlight his excellence in the sport. Being selected as the JUCO #1 MLB in the state is a significant accomplishment that reflects not only his personal success but also the success of the team as a whole.

It’s heartening to see that Mafile’o’s strong faith and values that guide him. His plan is to pursue a master’s degree and take care of his family demonstrates a sense of responsibility and ambition.

In the face of personal challenges, particularly his sister Lika’s health issues, Mafile’o’s positive outlook and gratitude for the little things in life are commendable. It’s evident that family plays a significant role in motivating him to strive for greatness.

The mention of his sister’s health condition serves as a reminder of the importance of support and empathy during challenging times. Lika will be in our prayers as she battles this tough fight.

Mafile’o’s pride in being a native of Riverside adds a deeper layer to his story. Being born and raised in a community often instills a sense of connection and loyalty. It’s clear that he values his roots and considers himself an integral part of the history of Riverside.

As Mafile’s and his team move forward, the message of “Remember the past, celebrate the present, praise the future” is a powerful reminder to appreciate every moment and look towards a bright future.

Football Career Stats: Led the team with 77 Tackles, 11 Tackles for Loss, 5 Sacks, 1 Interception, 3 Fumble Recoveries, while averaging 5.9 tackles per game.

Football Accolades: First Team All Defense, earned Team Captain honors.

A shout out to three Grand Terrace High School Titans that were also part of the RCC State Championship game goes to Michael Amoako, Isaac Mora, & Nicole Goodson with the cheer team!

We wish Mafile’o and his entire team continued success, the best is yet to come!
