Chorale To Perform Cesar Franck's “Missa Solemnes”

On April 22, 2018, at 4:00 P.M., the Moreno Valley Master Chorale will present a sacred concert featuring the hauntingly beautiful music of Cesar Frank, a French composer and organist. In addition to the “Missa Solemnes,” the Chorale and soloists will also perform several other works by Franck, including his popular “Psalm 150.” The concert will be held at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church located at 16500 Perris Boulevard in Moreno Valley.

Director Dr. Viorel Gheorghe notes that, “Franck was one of the most influential composers of the 19th century. He is considered to be the most important composer of organ music, after J.S. Bach. Like Bach, his music is both sacred and secular, and is characterized by a profound spirituality.  In spite of its beauty, Franck’s music is less often performed because of its high difficulty.” The Chorale has accepted this challenge, and promises to present a beautiful and moving concert on April 22.

Guest artists for this event, will be world-famous Mary Dropkin on the harp, Ana Maria Maldonado playing the cello, and Kimberly Amin at the organ. In addition, soloists Camelia Voin, soprano; Javier Gonzalez, tenor; and Honsuk Chae, bass will also be performing.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults; and $10.00 for Seniors, students, and children over 5. To reserve tickets, or for more information, please call (951) 485-8414; (951) 242-4963; or go to morenovalleymasterchorale.org.
