The San Bernardino Public Library will host a day of peace and healing with filmmaker Emmanuel Itier on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1:00 PM-5:30 PM in the Bing Wong Auditorium at the Feldheym Central Library at 555 W. 6th Street. Itier will be showing two of his award-winning documentary films, FEMME-Women healing the World’ and The Invocation, with a Q & A after each one. Femme is an inspirational voyage about women around the world who are actively transforming and healing global society on a daily basis. Starring Sharon Stone (Casino, Total Recall, Basic Instinct), Jean Houston, Marianne Williamson, Jean Shinoda Bolen, Riane Eisler, Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Shirin Ebadi and Mairead Maguire, Rickie Lee Jones, Gloria Steinem, and more. Influential women discuss religion, science, history, politics and entertainment - and the solutions to the multiple crises we face throughout the world. The Invocation is an exploration of the notion of God and a call for global harmony through foundations of religion, spirituality, history, science, politics and art. It is an invitation to elevate our school of thought and to change the code of human interaction in relation to our perceptions of God. The film proposes answers to universal questions in both a religious and non-religious context: Who am I, where do I come from, and where am I going? Is there something beyond the here and now? What is the global idea of ‘God' which has presented us with countless conflicts throughout human history? How can we live in Peace? The project was filmed around the world by a team of talented religious and non-religious filmmakers, and challenges us to go beyond our differences in seeking the common goal of world peace. Narrated by Sharon Stone, it features interviews with respected artists; entertainers; spiritual leaders; and other influential figures; such as Deepak Chopra, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama, Oliver Stone, Mark Wahlberg, and Rosario Dawson, among others. The Invocation is a truly inspiring source of information that compels you to "be the change you want to see in the world." In addition to his documentary series, Emmanuel Itier is an experienced feature film producer. He directed the thriller Tell me no Lies and the horror film Scarecrow. Itier acted as a co-producer and financing consultant for Johnny Mnemonic, Another 9 1/2 weeks, Shattered Image, ‘The Dentist, and Progeny. In 2013 Itier executive-produced Red Passage, a drama filmed in Hong Kong, which entered the film festival circuit in 2014. He also directed and co-wrote an action picture for The Asylum, ATTILA, with ultimate fighter star Cheik Kongo. Itier has been a successful music and film journalist for rock magazines, French TV networks, and the Internet for the last twenty five years. He grew up in France and moved to the USA twenty five years ago. FEMME-Women healing the World was released in late 2013, earning several awards around the world. Itier was recently elected as the first president of the Rotary E-Club of World Peace.
