Frank Gonzales Runs for Mayor

As a former mayor and current councilman, Frank Gonzales has gained the confidence of the residents, so much so that they have elected him into office a total of nine times; six terms as mayor, and three terms as councilman. While in public office, he was very instrumental in bringing in facilities such as the: • Frank A. Gonzales Community Center • Peter S. Luque Center/Library • Colton Main Library • Lawrence Hutton Community Center • Colton Area Museum • Villas Senior Complex (downtown) With Colton families’ health and welfare in mind, he worked very hard, and succeeded, in having the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center built in the City of Colton. Qualifications • Mayor – 14 years • Councilmember – 10 years • Mayor Pro-Tem Councilmember Gonzales has represented the City of Colton as a member on many local, regional and state committees, boards and commissions: • RDA Chairman • Inland Valley Development Agency (IVDA) • Colton Community Development Block Grant Committee (CDBG) • Colton Finance Committee • Colton Senior Housing Committee • OmniTrans Board Member • Solid Waste Advisory Task Force (SWAT) • SART Committee • Chairman, East Valley Transit Authority • State Transportation Commission • Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) • Chairman – Agua Mansa International Growth Association (AMIGA) • Airport Land Use Committee Additional qualifications: • Congressman George Brown’s administrative assistant • Past president Local Union 5647, USWA AFL-CIO His lifetime of community involvement/membership includes, but is not limited to: • Rotary Club Member and Past President • Knights of Columbus • Chamber of Commerce • Usher at Immaculate Conception and San Salvador Church • Parent Teacher Association • Ken Hubbs Little League Manager As your councilman, using sound fiscal responsibility, he has lowered the utility rates by 10 percent and discontinued the six percent utility tax. Jobs were created to provide quality services to our residents, and the city is no longer in a fiscal crisis. As your mayor, he will continue working towards lowering utility rates, continue bringing in new businesses creating sales tax revenue, create park/sport facilities for our youth, and improve services for Colton seniors.
