On November 4, 2017, at approximately 3:45 am, Deputy Henry Reyes and Deputy Manuel Tristan were working uniform patrol in the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino. While patrolling the area of Lynwood Drive and Ironwood Street, they noticed Diangelo Sandy sitting on the curb in the residential neighborhood. Due to the late hour, they conducted a pedestrian check to see if Sandy needed assistance or the reason he was loitering in the neighborhood. The deputies did a pat-down search for weapons. The deputies located a loaded Ruger semi-auto pistol in a holster on the subject’s waistband along with extra ammunition. Sandy gave the deputies a false name until his identity was confirmed through fingerprints and prior arrest booking information. After finding his identity, the deputies determined Sandy was on Felony Probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The deputies arrested Sandy without incident and again booked him into the Central Detention Center for being a felon in possession of a firearm, the same charge he is on probation for.
