CSUSB Announces Faculty Retirements

Twenty-one Cal State San Bernardino faculty members officially retired during the 2013-2014 academic year. Most of the retired faculty, except those noted by an asterisk, are participating in the Faculty Early Retirement Program, which allows tenured faculty who are eligible for service retirement to retire and continue teaching one term per year. The faculty are listed by their CSUSB academic college and department below. College of Arts and Letters Barbara J. Buroker, philosophy J. Jandt, communication studies; dean, Palm Desert Campus James Radomski, music College of Business and Public Administration Donald Drost, management Gary Patterson, management Ernesto Reza, management College of Education Richard Ashcroft, educational psychology and counseling Barbara Flores, language, literacy and culture Thelma Moore-Steward, educational leadership and curriculum Debbie Stine, educational leadership and curriculum Dwight Sweeney, educational psychology and counseling Dudley Wiest, educational psychology and counseling College of Natural Sciences Kim R. Clark*, health science Chris Freiling, math Danny C. Rinne*, math Marilyn Stoner, nursing College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Joyce Hanson, history David Riefer, psychology Student Services Terry L. Schmitt, psychological counseling center Eligible faculty may FERP up to a maximum time-base and duration as established in the Unit 3 Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement. The faculty members were recognized at the annual retiree luncheon last spring hosted by CSUSB President Tomás Morales and sponsored by the university’s department of human resources.
