Redlands Firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 1300 block of Orange Avenue Sunday night. No injuries were reported.

Units arrived at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, and found fire in the attic of a single-story residence. The residents had evacuated the home before firefighters’ arrival. Firefighters made entry to the structure and rescued two dogs and three cats. The animals were not injured.

With an aggressive and coordinated interior fire attack, crews were able to knock down the fire quickly and save a significant portion of the house from smoke and fire damage. If took firefighters approximately 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze. Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours for overhaul.

The estimated loss was approximately $60,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

In addition to Redlands Firefighters, the Loma Linda Fire Department also responded.
