The center offers visitors scheduled naturalist-led nature walks, exhibits, and hands-on learning opportunities. It also hosts a naturalist-based preschool. The center promotes Riverside Citizen Science, engaging the community in observing and documenting the local environment to foster appreciation for urban natural spaces.

Sycamore Canyon

For group visits, the center provides free educational programming. Reservations are required for groups of 25 or more students and are suggested for groups of more than five students. Scheduled visits include a guided hike and a lesson on topics such as avian raptors, native and invasive species, large mammals, food chains and webs, and tracking. Reservations should be made at least a month in advance.

Sycamore Canyon

The nature center's regular public hours are currently limited to special programming; visitors are advised to check for updates. The park itself is open daily from half an hour before sunrise until half an hour after sunset. For more information or to make reservations, contact the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department at 951-826-2000 or via email at parks@riversideca.gov.
