Redlands Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that was reported Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the area of San Bernardino Avenue and Orange Street. The victim, an adult female, was walking in that area at about 6 p.m. when she observed a newer, white Toyota Camry or Corolla with tinted windows and chrome rims occupied by two men following her. She continued onto the 1500 block of Alta Street where the vehicle pulled up alongside her. The passenger exited the vehicle, grabbed the victim around the waist and attempted to pull her to the vehicle. When the victim resisted, the man released her and returned to the vehicle which then drove away. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, age 45 to 55, approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt, dark pants and a dark cap with a white logo on the left side. The driver is described only as a Hispanic male. Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Mike Merriman at (909) 798-7681 or by email at mmerriman@redlandspolice.org.
