City Gives Notice of Board Openings

The City of Moreno Valley is now accepting applications for the Environmental and Historical Preservation Board and Senior Citizens' Board. The appointees shall be bona fide residents of the City of Moreno Valley at the time of appointment and throughout their incumbencies and will serve without compensation for designated terms. In addition, the appointees shall attend at least one meeting prior to the appointment (this requirement does not apply to the Accessibility Appeals Board). The Environmental and Historical Preservation Board has an opening for one term through June 30, 2017. The Senior Citizens' Board has an opening for one term through June 30, 2016. The Environmental and Historical Preservation Board considers matters pertaining to the preservation of the City's heritage and cultures, including the designation of landmarks and review of all restoration, rehabilitation, alteration and demolition projects in preservation areas; and matters of environmental concern, including matters pertaining to hazardous materials and waste within or affecting the City. Meetings are scheduled on the second Monday of each odd-numbered month at 7 p.m., City Hall - Council Chamber, 14177 Frederick St. The Senior Citizens' Board considers matters pertaining to senior citizens, senior programs, including policies for the Moreno Valley Senior Community Center. Meetings are scheduled on the third Monday of each month at 3 p.m., Senior Community Center, 25075 Fir Ave. The City Council encourages residents to apply for these positions. Applications are available on the City's Website and at the City Clerk's Department, located at 14177 Frederick St., Moreno Valley, California, during regular business hours (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday). For further information, please call 951-413-3001. Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Department no later than 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16.
