Jody Barnett and Chris Barnett, father and son, of Barnett Real Estate will be hosting their grand opening celebration for their new Grand Terrace business on Oct. 12 starting at 11 a.m. Their new office is on 22365 Barton Road in Grand Terrace, right next door to Bank of America. The entertainment is free, and will consist of a real live lion named Felix and tiger named Anika. The event, which will be emceed by Jimbo, will also include pony rides, a petting zoo, slides, jumpers, and raffles with prizes like: iPads, concert tickets, spa packages, and more. There will be a small fee for the many varieties of food such as: a Carl's Jr. Truck, $3 beer, funnel cake, tacos, cotton candy, and more. All proceeds from the event will be donated directly to the Freedom Wall and Dog Park. The three Freedom Wall essay contest winners will be announced at the event. Jody Barnett has been a realtor for fifteen years and a broker for nine. He has spent his whole life in the Inland Empire, "This is where we're going to stay... and we're ready to make a splash," Jody said. Jody and Chris Barnett shared how much they love their new office, the city it's in, and the nice view of it that they have from their office suite. It's close to home, and the friendly community Barnett mentioned only makes their location that much better. Jim McNaboe from the Veterans Wall of Freedom board said, "Barnett Realty has been very generous by purchasing these plaques as well as giving the Veterans Wall of Freedom an opportunity to operate one of the concession stands for the event as a way of raising funds for the project itself. The board for the VWoF project believes that we are in a great position to bring a unique monument for veterans to the city of Grand Terrace and the Inland Empire region."
