The Grand Terrace Woman’s Club will be participating in “Operation Toasty Toes” – a project of the GFWC/CFWC/San Bernardino District Women’s Clubs on Saturday, Nov. 7. This is a county-wide effort to collect donations for new socks for children, women and men, as well as distribution to homeless shelters and domestic violence centers. Members of the Grand Terrace Woman’s Club are joining with their Federation sisters of Women’s Clubs throughout San Bernardino County to gather socks and slipper socks. With 20 clubs here in the county, distribution will be to shelters in the local area of each club. Grand Terrace will donate their socks to Option House, a domestic violence shelter in the local area. How can you help? Purchase new socks and/or slipper socks for women and children. We are collecting socks right now and also collect at the Grand Terrace Country Fair on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Community Center on the corner of Barton Road and Vivienda Street (adjacent to Grand Terrace Elementary School). The community’s help is welcomed and appreciated. It has recently come to our attention that although many donations are made to the homeless, new socks are the least likely donation. Any new socks will be put to good use. Please join with the members of the Grand Terrace Woman’s Club in helping those who are less fortunate. Should you have any questions or need further information, you may contact GTWC President Nancy Hassard or Past President Wendy Curran.
