Each year, the Board of Education, superintendent, cabinet and district staff fan out across the district for the first day of school celebration. Students and parents were excited to be welcomed back to school by their favorite superhero visit on Wednesday, August 14!

"At the Leadership Summit, I asked everyone which character I should be," said Board Member Darrell Peeden. "Although it was a hot day, I think my Spongebob outfit was a hit! I had so much fun making students and staff smile in my costume. It was a great first day!"

Many students and parents were eager to take pictures with their favorite superheroes.

"I absolutely loved the way they reacted when they saw us," said Board of Education Clerk Dr. Marsha Locke. "The smiles and excitement they shared with us are priceless. I look forward to an incredible new year!"

A huge thank you to all staff and volunteers who dedicated time and effort to dress up as a superhero for all of our students for their first day of school!!
