Val Verde High School students and staff held up signs featuring positive phrases as they participated in their own “Happiness Sprinkling Project” in front of the campus in the City of Perris on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. The participants all wore bright, yellow shirts and waved signs that read “You are beautiful,” “You are loved,” and “You are a good parent.” “We sometimes need reminders about all the positivity that surrounds us. These events are a good way of spreading happiness to the community, and they are also a great way for our students to be involved in something positive,” said Val Verde High School Counselor, James Macaraeg. “It was nice to see our students engaging in positive community interactions and teaching them to share positive messages with others. The students enjoyed the event and look forward to doing it again next year,” said Val Verde High School Counselor, Kathy Carpenter. The “Happiness Sprinkling Project” was created by Laura Lavigne of the Anacortes Center for Happiness in Washington state.
