The Nov. 2 meeting of the Loma Linda Cultural Art Association will feature Ada Passaro, a celebrated Southern California artist who has received many awards for the pastel paintings she has exhibited nationally and internationally. Most recently, her work appeared at the Spotlight Gallery of the Chaffey Community Museum of Art, and in an invitational exhibit at Riverside City College. In 2013, her painting was chosen to be exhibited in the office of Representative Mark Takano. She is active in several pastel groups, and a founding member of the Pastel Society of Southern California and the Plein Air Artists of Riverside. “All subjects intrigue me… people, still life, plants and landscapes… all turn me on! I try to capture the feelings that I have when viewing my subject,” says this versatile artist. “Art is a way of life for me. From my earliest childhood memories… art has filled my days.” After a career in advertising design and illustration, she has joyfully plunged into what she always dreamed of doing: paint. She will share that enthusiasm with us on Nov. 2, at the Loma Linda Senior Center, located at the southeast corner of the Loma Linda Civic Center complex, 25541 Barton Road, Loma Linda, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Free to LLCAA members and students, the price for non-members is $3, payable at the door.
